Representation & Negotiation Services

Do you have a valid reason as to why the offence occurred? Do you believe you’re not in the wrong? At Cairns Traffic Lawyers, we can negotiate your charges with the prosecutor or the Office of the Department of Public Prosecutions. We’ll assess your case and provide personalised advice on whether it’s worthwhile pursuing a negotiation or accepting the guilty plea.

It may be in your best interests to negotiate the charges if:

  • There is enough evidence to prove you were wrongfully charged
  • There isn’t enough evidence to prove that you committed the offence

People often choose to accept the fine and punishment rather than negotiating because they would prefer not to drag out the process.

However, this can have a big impact on their ability to carry out jobs and maintain an income. That’s why it’s important to consult our qualified lawyers who have a special interest in traffic and criminal law.

Assistance With Obtaining Licences

Do you need a drivers’ licence to continue earning a living? Speak with the team at Cairns Traffic Lawyers to understand all your options. Our lawyers will evaluate your unique case and determine if you’re eligible for either a work licence  or special hardship order. These licences allow you to drive under restricted conditions, even if your provisional or open driving licence has been disqualified.

We can assist you with the application process and represent you in court before the Magistrate. If you’ve been charged with drink driving and you had a blood alcohol level less than 0.15 percent, then a work licence might be suitable for you. A special hardship order might apply to you if you were driving over the limit by 40km/hr.
